Hudson Valley Weddings – 5 Fun Alternatives to Fresh Flower Bouquets

Although fresh flower bouquets are a traditional and beautiful choice, there are other as amazing alternatives to try as well. Plenty of brides these days want to go with something a bit more unique and we wanted to inspire you with these five fun alternatives to fresh flower bouquets.

1. Origami Flower Bouquet

Paper origami is such a pretty idea for a flower bouquet. You can create all kinds of amazing origami designs and make your bouquet look more than a little different.

The cool thing about this is that you don’t need to worry about the flowers fading away or getting affected by the elements, such as the rain and the wind. It’s also easy to craft single color or multi-color bouquets with paper.

2. Crystal Bouquet

There are also plenty of sweet crystal bouquet ideas out there. You can purchase these bouquets online from a number of jewelry shops. Additionally, you could make a crystal bouquet yourself.

If you’ve got beautiful crystals, then just glue or sew them together with a sturdy metal string. You could even use your old jewelry for this. For instance, vintage rings can be simple to glue together.

3. Tree Branches

You don’t need to go with just flowers, if you want something fresh and lively to your bouquets. There are very clever ways to utilize tree branches in a pretty way.

For example, for a beach wedding a small bouquet made from palm leaves isn’t a bad idea at all. Alternatively, you could consider tree branches like eucalyptus and even spruce during the winter months.

4. Fabric Flowers

As well as using paper, you can also make flowers from fabric. This is a soft and very feminine idea that goes well with plenty of wedding themes. A creative idea is to opt for lace flowers in between other fabric flowers, as it adds a bit of a vintage feel to your bouquet.

If you want, you can also sew in a few pearls or other stones to the bouquet. This adds a bit of sparkle to your beautiful bouquet.

5. Feather Bouquet

For a carnival or bohemian themed wedding feather bouquet could be the best alternative. It adds a nice elegant flair to your wedding outfit and colorful feathers can look amazingly pretty.

Again, it might be a nice idea to mix and match the feathers with some jewelry as well. Another clever idea is to spray a bit of glitter on top of the feathers to give them an elegant finish.

Wedding traditions are great, but it’s also fun to occasionally change them and find unique ways to include them to your ceremony. Fresh flower bouquets are always pretty, but these above examples show that there are plenty of other bouquet ideas that can work just as well.
