Hudson Valley Weddings – 7 Beautiful DIY Ideas for a New Year’s Eve Wedding

Hudson Valley Weddings – 7 Beautiful DIY Ideas for a New Year’s Eve Wedding

New Year’s Eve is a fantastic time for having your wedding. It is the biggest party night of the year and a great way to welcome your new life as a married couple. If you are planning to hold your Hudson Valley wedding at New Year’s Eve, here are seven beautiful DIY ideas you should use at your party.

1. Simple Golden Invitations

You can start your DIY project with the invitations. You don’t need to buy expensive invitations, as making your own can be pretty simple. Just print your invitation to a nice white paper and spray-paint the sides with a golden shimmery paint. For a more dramatic look, you can use black paper and print with white ink, or use gold glitter with some black ribbon.

2. Tassel Balloons

Balloons are a great must have for a New Year’s Eve wedding and you can add a little twist to your regular balloons by hanging tassels from them. This tutorial at Sweet Thing Blog is a simple guide to making tassel balloons.

Furthermore, you can hang other decorations from your balloons as well. Personalized escort cards made from balloon are a fun idea. Write the table number gently onto the balloon and tie a picture of the person underneath.

3. Countdown Clock Table Decorations

Your guests will be keeping their eye out for the midnight celebrations anyway and you can help them out by creating table decorations from clocks. You could either use old clocks that are set to go off at midnight or you could create beautiful DIY clocks that guests can play with. For instance, these accordion circle clocks could also work attached to a vase.

4. Sparkly Cake Toppers

You can add a simple decorative touch to your cake by using sparkly pipe cleaners. These can easily be bended into any shape you like. You can create numbers, letters or symbols in an instant and add a nice little touch to your wedding cake.

5. Glittery Glasses

You should also consider adding a bit of glittery sparkle to your wedding venue and one of the simple ways to do this is with glittery glasses. You can either use a thin layer of Mod Podge or opt for glitter glues.

If you’re not able to add glitter to the glasses, you can always do this same with your flower vases or table decorations.

6. Sparkly Wedding Favors

As it is New Year’s Eve, you should definitely add some sparklers to your wedding ceremony and using them as your party favors is a fantastic idea. You can buy sparklers online for relatively cheap and then just make your own gift package.

Add a handful or sparklers per person, tie them with a lovely ribbon in your wedding’s theme color and include a handmade card that thanks the guest for sharing your special day with you.

7. Confetti Poppers

Finally, you can create your own confetti poppers and hang them above the dance floor. The Ruffled Blog has a great idea for confetti poppers. You can fill the poppers with confetti and even add a few candies or poems written in the confetti for your guests to be surprised!
